Monica Bedi, who made a comeback into the entertainment industry with television reality shows, has released her debut album Ek Onkaar on Universal Music, a spiritual offering in ultimate praise of The Almighty. This is her expression of unshaken faith that has helped Monica through the various trials and tribulations in her life.

The album begins with an atmospheric introduction followed by the chant of the revered Mool Mantra, one of the holiest chants of the Sikhs. Ek Onkaar represents “One God”. The fundamental teaching of Sikhism is that only one essence or one reality that is paramount. It is the first phrase in the Guru Granth Sahib. Ek Onkaar is followed by the Simran of Wahe Guru, the ultimate exclamation of wonderment in the praise of the Lord. Monica has also sung five Pauris from Japji Sahib that speak about the universality of God and the strong belief in destiny as depicted by Sikhism.
The sound and mood of the album, says Monica, is attuned to listeners crossing all barriers of age, class and nationality. The music has been arranged by Anand Kurhekar of Inner Voice, who has provided a very world-ambient kind of sound design to the entire album. Inner Voice has been the production house behind many a spiritual album like Dances Of Shiva, Gayatri Mantra, Mandukaya Upanishad, Preaching Of Buddha and others.

Now, a ‘launch’ for music directors!
Music album and singer launches are common, but at a unique function, new music directors were ‘launched’ at a party in a Mumbai suburban restorbar recently.
Filmmakers Satish Kaushik and Mehul Kumar are introducing new music directors Sachin and Jigar in their respective films Tere Sang and Krantiveer 2. Singers Kunal and his wife Gayatri Ganjawala, Shraddha Pandit, Shweta Pandit and Neeraj Shridhar, Sammir Dattani, Ruslaan Mumtaz and Sheena were among those present.
